Wittner Finetune Violin Peg, Select Size

Made in Germany by Wittner, (ONE) Finetune Violin Peg, very easy, quick, effortless and very precise tuning, made of high-tech composite material and light alloy, the tapered peg is put in place without glue by simply pressing it into the pegbox just like any ordinary peg. Self-inhibiting transmission inside the peg; the string cannot lose tension. The finetune peg needs not/must not be loosened or tightened in order to tune the instrument. It is sufficient to simply turn the head of the finetune peg in the desired direction. No wear on peg and peghole (the shaft of the peg does not spin, subsequently there is no friction). Climate and humidity have no influence on the peg. Sold individually (1) peg. These pegs should be installed by a professional luthier or repair person only. Specifications

To determine the size of a Wittner Finetune peg you need measure the thickest part of the shaft of your current peg, which is below the collar, and select the Wittner Finetune Peg that is slightly thicker. Wittner Finetune pegs are measured by diameter right below the collar. They are available in different sizes, such as 7.8 mm and 8.6 mm for 4/4 and 3/4 size violins.

You will need a reamer to fit these pegs. You should measure your pegs and order pegs slightly larger than the current size of your peg, and then ream them all out to the correct size during fitting.
